Welcome to Alford - Market Town at the foot of the Lincolnshire Wolds...
This ancient market town once served the farming community with its cattle market. Alford Town is famous for the 17th century thatched Alford Manor House. Market stalls including an excellent fish stall, still continues in the Market Place every Tuesday. Alford now also features the Craft Market on Tuesdays and Fridays through the Summer..

July 2015 New craft workshops for the ALFORD CRAFT CENTRE
We are delighted to announce that Alford Craft Market has been awarded a grant from the Big Lottery Fund to refurbish and equip two rooms at the rear of the Craft Market shop at 1 West Street, Alford, as craft workshops.
Our Chairman Priscilla McGirr has said that it will provide a unique and much needed opportunity for our local craftsmen to pass on their skills to a younger generation, particularly as Alford is so well known for its historic connection with crafts.
We will be providing taster sessions, day classes and ongoing courses in various craft skills to all ages, and the rooms will also be used as a meeting place for small groups such as knitting circles.
Work will commence on the Alford Craft Centre shortly and we hope to be offering classes by the Autumn.
Bookings and information will be available through the shop which is open between 10 am and 4 pm , and closed on Thursdays.
We would like to thank the town for the support it has shown us in developing the idea, and we are hoping that our local community will enjoy the many interesting and fun days that we are planning.
