On each day during the festival anyone wishing to try their hand at juggling were encouraged to join one of the ever popular workshops. On Monday Joe Kriss a contemporary urban poet and wordsmith held four sessions with his observations on life and thought provoking story-telling and poetry. His recent performances in London include Tate Modern, Ronnie Scott’s and RADA. On Saturday for those interested in playing or singing traditional / folk music there was a free workshop session in the Half Moon Hotel, West St. This was led by students from the Newcastle University Traditional Music Degree course and the local Ceilidh band “Rakeup”. The workshop was repeated on Sunday and was followed by a short performance in the Marquee in the Manor House grounds.
