As a result of the workshops and meetings the ACT Steering Group agreed that Alford’s priorities for change are:-

1 To create a vibrant Town Centre

2 To capitalize on and extend Tourism

3 To retain local young people in the town and its economy

4 Retain existing businesses and encourage new businesses to the area

5 To support the process of conservation at the Manor House

6 To ensure that the town and its surrounding communities has a “Park for All”

7 To provide a network of good, well maintained footpaths

8 To address the issue of a lack of centrally located health/information provision

9 To support the provision of activities for young people

10 To reduce traffic congestion and reduce the speed of traffic

11 Address the shortfalls in public transport
