Did you know that Alford Craft Market is a non-profit making organisation?
This unique market is run solely to help as many crafts people as possible.
No public entry fee is charged for any of our events and exhibitor costs
are kept to a minimum. Extensive advertisement material is distributed
all along the east coast as well as major inland establishments, tourist
offices and museums.
Prior to the major fairs - Spring Bank Holiday and August Bank Holiday,
which combines an extremely popular music and entertainment festival,
3 massive mail-shots precede major events. All our efforts are designed
to bring thousands of visitors to the markets.
See booklet for venues dates and prices.
In an endeavour to retain the quality of craft work and to maintain a
high standard, it is necessary for all applicants to have submitted samples
of work prior to being accepted on to the market. This is a protection
on behalf of all crafts people to exclude the possibility of massed produced
and cheap imports. Viewing of work may be done on the first booking at
the Alford Manorhouse or prior to a committee meeting at the Half
Moon Hotel in Alford.
After the viewing of work the Secretary will contact the prospective applicant
in writing with regard to the Committee's decision.
