Happy Christmas!2003 November 28:

From 4pm: “Canned” music in Square till 6pm
5.30 Santa, the Mayor and Silver Band leave 5-Sailed Mill on Road Train. Go first to Victoria House, then St Oswalds and finishing at Tanglewood with sweets. Returns to Market Place. Train goes back round streets with Silver Band.
5.30 Recorder Group in Market Place
6.00 Mayor turns on lights
6.05 Fireworks lit in Windmill car park.
6.10 Alford Primary School Choir/children sing carols around Xmas tree.
6.30 Santa arrives in Market Square and goes into Corn Exchange.
6.30 “Canned” music in Square till 7.15
6.30 Henry the Dog and the Carandoes begin entertainment in the Corn Exchange.
7.15 Silver band play in Market Square
7.45 till close “Canned” music in Square
7.45 till 8.30 Henry and Carandoes again in Corn Exchange.

Over 1,500 people came to the Market Place to see Santa, talk to Lucy on BBC Radio Lincolnshire, watch the fireworks, visit the shops, enjoy the Arts Circle display, listen to the Carol Singing and enjoy the festive atmosphere in preparation for Christmas.

Steve Stirland of ATEC said it was a great success.
