The Spring Bank Holiday Alford Craft Market Working Crafts Weekend theme this year will be ceramics.
In early 2020 the people of Alford and the surrounding area were asked if they wanted to make a bird in clay to be part of the ceramic weekend celebration. They said YES. They were asked if they could make 1000 BIRDS FOR ALFORD! They said “We’ll try”.
A TON of clay was bought, sponsored by Alford Craft Market, and distributed free of charge to people of all ages, from preschool to retirement homes, businesses, clubs, societies, schools, family groups, Councillors, MP, all made birds and brought them back to Alford Pottery for firing.
