It is Alford Craft Market’ 50th Anniversary 1974 – 2024 and as part of our celebrations we have put together a free Community project happening at our Spring Bank Holiday Weekend Craft Market. We invite Alford people and visitors to decorate our 50th year printed canvas banners, with textile and ceramic artist Nicki Jarvis, using wild colours recalling the vibrancy of the mid-1970s, using acrylic paints.
The banners will be embellished later in the Summer at special workshops at the Alford Craft Market Centre using beads, recycled items and embroidery, and the finished banners will be displayed on the Manor House railings at the Alford August Bank Holiday Weekend Craft Market. The banners will go on to be exhibited at other venues too.
